Does anyone work or has anyone worked in one of these after school programs in the public schools in Seoul? The hours are about 12-6... Thanks. |
Horror stories abound.... just look back a bit...
There are a FEW good ones but for the most part:
You get ALL the disadvantages of a hakwon and a PS
AND you get NONE of the advantages of the public school.
typically no pension, medical.
typically, 10 days only of paid vacation.
typically incorrect deductions for taxation - or worse yet, the double bank account tax scam (at your expense)
required to make up classes that get canceled for other school events.
READ THE CONTRACT VERY CAREFULLY before you sign on the dotted line.
The devil IS in the details and they are NOT as good as they sound on paper or if you just look at the base pay and daily hours.
