Hey everyone,
I have been in Suwon for a week now, and came from Toronto Canada. I adventured out to the Crazy Duck the other night and had a pretty good time. I am teaching at Suwon Elementry School and was wondering if anyone lives close to me or wanted to chat? I live more central Suwon ...ummm my address is around Paldal-gu Suwon City, Kyeonggi-do if that helps. when looking at the google map of the city i live on the left side border of what seems to be the main forest in the middle of the city, ha umm yeah. well let me know if you are around or whats going on.

Anyang has its own motley crew of foreigners... no need to go all the way to suwon! You probably live right near me.

There was a recent thread about anyang... check it out for some good places to go.

Haha yeah I noticed this too.
Do you speak English back to them?

A lot of them stare at you like that because they really do think you are mentally disabled unless you start speaking English.

My 26 year-old friend didn't know that he had to take the subway ticket out after entering in Seoul. Obviously, he ran into problems when he tried to get out. The subway ajosshi started patting him down for the ticket and asked, "Umma uh-dit-suh?" (Where's your mama?)

Now whenever he acts stupid, I ask him where his mama is.

Hi there and welcome to Suwon. I've been here about 5 weeks now and although it's tough at first as a GEPIK teacher, you'll meet loads of people quickly if you stay open and friendly. You already found the Duck so you're halfway there.

We tried to get a Suwon get-together happening a couple of weeks ago but it fizzled. Here's my email if you want to get together sometime for a beer. [email protected]

Welcome to the pit called Suwon. I suggest a Friday night session, although my wife imposes a midnight curfew. I found out this past Saturday.

yah, i arrived about 4 days ago and instead of speaking english to express that i'm a foreigner, I just shrugged my shoulders and looked stupid. i shoulda just busted out my english i guess. it pretty much explains why i never got bags from home plus. "would u like a bag?" me "::shrug:Confused???"

and i've seen maybe 6 foreigners. i guess they're english teachers since they all spoke english and were young. i saw a white and asian lady near beomgye station as well, i shoulda said something to them, but i had to eat
