Hey Guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. I was in Korea from 2002-2006 doing the wonderful Hagwon thing (Seoul, Incheon, and Ansan). Currently, I'm living in Melbourne. I've been reading dave's since I first started applying for jobs in Korea but I've only recently been able to register for this board.

Anyways, I am thinking of setting up a forum/message board for expat Kiwis, regardless of their current location. A place to hang out and talk about things kiwi. Do you think it would be a good idea? What sort of things would you like to see there if you were to frequent such a place?

I've got a PHPBB board setup and domain name ready to go. Just need some ideas.

Any advice/ideas appreciated.

Yeah good idea, definately worth considering. Only problem I can think of is that i hate aussies. haha just kiding. I can see your point that if I aim it towards anitpodeans there should be more dialogue occuring. BUT, it sort of goes against the plan of targeting kiwis to discuss issues relating to kiwis living abroad. I was more hoping to target the 30,000 plus kiwis who migrate to Aussie every year. Of course, targeting a mainly kiwi userbase wouldn't stop people from other nations from joining and slagging off the kiwi sports teams.

So there's no interest in this then? No ideas? criticism?

Oh well. Thanks for the reply Itaewon Guy.

What would the purpose be exactly? What service would such a forum provide? It seems to me that if Kiwis wanted to talk to each other they could just join a NZ forum and that expat Kiwis don't have enough shared interests to make for a worthwile forum. However, perhaps you will be able to think of a good angle.
