|
|
My school told me tax office called asking for my bank details so they could pay me my 240,000 tax refund. (I presume this is the one-off tax rebate many people are receiving even though i didn't file a form...)
Any idea when they will pay this as I need to buy a winter jacket so will splurge now if the money is coming this week or next, but not if it ain't coming 'til end month or later... |

Are you in the exemption period, Form? I am, so I'm not getting this gas refund you're talking about. Only tax payers are getting it, supposedly.
If you ARE in your exemption period and you're getting this refund, I need to be making a call to the tax office so I, too, can get a refund. I'm going on what I've been told at my outfit, so naturally, I'm skeptical. |

I was told the money would be paid mid December by the Tax Office. |

I've 'paid' taxes on my 2008 salary, although I'm exempt. I would have paid taxes on 2007's if I would have had the anal HR person last year that I have now, although 2007 was my first year here. I've been told I'll get this money back, but I've also been told I need to provide a proof of residency in order to get the deductions to stop. Will I need the POR to get the refund back? THAT is what I'm trying to find out.
Was 2007 one of your first two tax years? That's my question. |

I've got a question also. I thought we weren't supposed to get the tax settlement figured until after the last pay period of the year. For me Dec 7th.
At that point your school should figure out your tax settlement and send it to the tax office, right?
And does anyone know if you can claim your 2007 taxes from a previous school you worked for even though its the next year? |

I paid tax last year in a hagwon, but not this year in a public school. Does being in exemption status right now disqualify you from getting the 240,000 won? |

NO!. It is based on what you earned last year. Presuming your hogwon from last year sent you the paperwork you should get it. |
