I need to do my E2 medical check soon but I don't want to use my uni's hospital because the discount is a pittance and the place is damn inconvenient to get to. Anybody do there check-up in Busan, what other hospitals are there?

I did my medical (public school requirement) at Hongje Hospital in Yangjeong. It wasn't busy on the Saturday morning I did it.
Last time I got it done at the hospital next to I-Sarang Baby Hospital in Gaegum. That place was busy. |

I did it at Pusan National University Hospital. Got 30% off and it was still amazingly expensive. Probably the most expensive place in the city. |

How much was it? How easy is the hospital to get to? My uni is charging about 80,000 and the hospital is a cab ride from a subway stop about an hour from my apartment and a half hour from my uni. |

There's a place on line 2 directly above a subway station. Kang-an Hospital? |

I've had two done at Dong-Eui Medical Centre. You can find a map and a phone number here: http://www.demc.kr/english/
I don't remember how much it cost as I did it last January but you can call Lee Sang Ju at 016-856-8323 and she can tell you. She is the English speaking liaison nurse there and she will meet you in the lobby and show you where you need to go and what you need to do. Dong-Eui is a pretty friendly place (at least, Lee SangJu is friendly) and it's located in near Yangjeon station. You should really take the shuttle bus because it's a hell of a hill to climb. The shuttle stop is located right outside Exit number 4 and will drop you off right beside the Medical Centre. |

What subway stop on Line 2 is this Kang-An hospital?
You guys do realize that not all hospitals have the equipment to do the new tests for the E-2?
I did my EPIK check at a place in Seomyeon the last two years but this new battery of tests can only be done at a bigger hospital. I have heard it takes a couple hours. You also have to fast for 8 hours.
Oh, and bring your passport, ARC and two passport size photos.
What a hassle. |

TDR, good good call. One of my coworkers recommended Dong-eui too. It went really well and wasn't hard to find. They wanted about 55,000KRW for all the tests because I didn't have my insurance card with me.
Everybody in Busan... go there. They speak English and treat you well. A really decent experience. |

I got mine done at the Busan Veterans' Hospital (보훈병원). It cost about 60,000. Immigration told me it was one of the only hospitals in town that could do all the tests necessary: drug test, HIV, TB, etc. They had a couple of English speaking greeters who walked me around the hospital for each of the tests and one who handled the paperwork in the accounting office.
BTW, I drove there, and it was somewhat difficult to find because the entrance is located in a curve and is sort of like a small tunnel connected to a larger tunnel. By the time I saw the sign, I had already passed it and had to circle way around to come back again because traffic is only one way there. Taking the subway to the Sasang area and then taking a taxi might be the best way to go. |
