Working at a hagwon I've got very limited holidays, but I've got a 6 day one coming up at the end of December.
I've heard a lot of great things about Ulleungdo, and I'd really like to get there before I leave Korea, but I'm just wondering if it's worth the trip in the winter. I know tourism is really important to the island but I assume that's mostly in the summer, so I'm curious if all of the accommodation shuts down for the winter.
Any advice/tips are appreciated.
Thanks |

Ulleungdo is one of my favorite spots in Korea- been there 4 times. While some places will be closed, certainly a number will still be open. I'd be more concerned about the rough ride out there that time of year. That and it'll be freezing cold
That said- Ive seen some gorgeous pics of snow-covered Ulleungdo. I'd love to see that in person were it not for the whole freezing my ass off part.
Run a quick google and you'll hit a number of Korean sites that list tons of accommodation- have a friend call and see. Good luck! |
