They demand tolerance, but as usual, they don't have to be tolerant of anyone else. If the sodomites want to attack people, people have the right to shoot back self defense. Just don't get any body fluids on you!
Christian Prayer Group Sexually and Physically Assaulted by Homosexual Mob
San Francisco Castro District residents seek vengeance for vote on Proposition 8

SAN FRANCISCO, November 18, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A mob of homosexuals sexually and physically assaulted a group of Christians praying together in the city's Castro District last week, in apparent retaliation for the recent defeat of homosexual marriage in California.
The Christians, a group of Evangelical Protestants who regularly go to the predominantly homosexual Castro District to sing songs and pray with passers-by, say they were holding hands and singing "Amazing Grace" when a angry mob began to shove and kick them, steal their belongings, pour hot coffee on their faces, and sexually assault them.
"We'd been there for a couple of nights just singing worship songs, people would come up and stand with us and join us, we got to pray for some people," said one participant in an account filmed at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsxojbyAQGI), "but on Friday night it just was different."
"We started worshipping, it was kind of like you would walk into someone's living room, and people are just hanging out with a guitar, worshipping Jesus, just really peaceful," she continued. "And a man came up after we'd been there for a little while and just began yelling and swearing at us and commanding us to get out of the Castro District, and our leader went up and he said 'why are you here?' and she said 'we're here to worship God and we're here because we love you'............

It did apparently get ugly, but the youtube video only starts when the group was being led away by police. There is only the Christian girl's account provided as to what happened prior to that.
Seems to me it is likely there's a bit missing from her story. Possibly quite a bit. |

Please. This is happening all over the world, but the secular news doesn't care. It doesn't understand justice, like most of the people on this board. |

All over "the world"? Please.
"Secular media". Nice. The Imaginary Friend Media is on it, though. |

I'd love to say it's exactly what they deserve, and maybe it is. But violence begets violence and two wrongs never make a right. There's no reason for any of it.
Still, FiveEagles, if there was worldwide problem of Christian killing (I mean more than anything else, like Shite killing, or gypsy killing, or all the crap that goes on in Africa), we would hear about it. Don't ever doubt that, even through the Super Christian Persecution Shield you have on. |

I don't approve of anyone getting beaten up, and if that's what happened in this incident, well, the perpetrators can be taken to court and prosecuted.
But let's be honest here. A couple of weeks after Prop 8 is passed, a bunch of evangelicals(the group most closely associated with the amendment) go into the Castro of all places to preach the gospel? That would be like a bunch of Japanese tourists waving around the Rising Sun flag in a Gwangju soju tent the day after the World Court delcares Dokdo to be Japanese territory.
Long and the short of it, these Christians went looking for a fight, and they found one. I don't think this merits comparison to situations around the world where Christians get tortured and killed simply for reading the bible around the dinner table at home. |

I agree that Christians do stupid things and if they were preaching right after prop 8, that's not right. But this doesn't justify attacking worshipping Christians.
This is only the beginning of what's coming to America. |

I am exactly as enraged as I would be if the assault had happened against the gays. |

Yeah. It looks like the Christian martyr complex is in good working order. I'm not a fan of violence, but if you go looking for a fight you lose the right to complain about it when you find one. |

So is the murder of gays--who can also be christians.
EEEk! Imagine that!
Where's your outrage? Where's that unconditional all-encompassing-Jesus-love-for your-fellow-man you types like to spout?
Put your money where your mouth is.
I tell you what I understand. The truth is you don't really care. Highly selective "caring". This is just another morally righteous bunch of faux outrage emanating from a guy who's found a headline he can love and with which he can pretend to be better than all of us.
Why? Because in real life he's an unconfident, damaged little man whose capacity to self-reflect has long since been obliterated by the religious dogma that has filled the empty spaces in his head instead.
You only care when you can find yet another thing to whinge about concerning the "secular media" and posters on this board.

It does seem that they went into that area looking for a scrap (or to be scrapped with), no? That doesn't excuse the violence (pretty small violence) but it does suggest that the church that organized the field trip has a very low level of respect for the critical reasoning abilities of the Christians they hoped to influence. I wonder why. |

It's easy to preach to the choir, I guess. |
