When I was 18 (almost ten years ago) I got in a traffic accident and the police charged me with dangerous driving (which is a "criminal offence", not a "driving" offence).
I was so innocent of the crime that it was immediately thrown out of court without trial and I didn't even receive any demerit points or an insurance increase.

This charge of course doesn't show up on my regular criminal background check. But it does shows up on my vulnerable sector (which I find utterly ridiculous, btw. I was innocent. How can it be held against me?)

Anyways, how does this charge affect my chances with the Korean embassy and my working visa?

Any Canadians out there have a similar problem? How did it turn out?
I tried running a search, but couldn't find anything.

I doubt that anyone here could answer your question. It really shouldn't be an issue, but who knows?

You're best bet is to apply for a visa and see what happens.

Contact your police jurisdiction to clarify whether or not your case was altogether thrown out. When you say thrown out, are you positive that all of the charges were actually dropped. If you are innocent in this matter, there may just be some kind of mistake or else you may need to get a pardon for the offence.
