|
|
I bought a computer from someone on Dave's, it had been working fine, and then randomly last week I got this error:
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."
What the heck should I do? It was a pirated version of windows, and I don't have a CD. Is there someway to fix it myself, or do I need someone trained to do it?
I don't care about lose of information.
Thanks for any help! |

The terms are actually technotard or techtard...
You need the windows CD -- should be somebody you know with a copy (everybody knows somebody with a copy). |

Ok, techtard sounds good.
I don't think I know anybody with a copy of windows on CD honestly. |

Just to avoid future problems, it makes sense to keep one on hand. Heck, since you're already using a pirated version, make a few copies and give them to friends to be on the safe side. |
