|
|
I want to start off by saying, I know how a lot of you feel about recruiters in a negative way and would appreciate it if I could get positive feedback only if possible. I am interested in teaching public elementary or middle school, but I would like to know how many choices of where I would like to teach, I should give my recruiter? I am thinking three.
I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks |

I gather so far I should only give the recruiter three choices? I guess anymore would be a problem? |

1. Busan 2. Daegu 3. Jeju
That's what I gave my recruiter.
Alhtough, since your preference is teaching elementary and middle school it sounds like you like to be around cutesy young children who haven't been demonized yet.
Might I suggest putting Daegu on the top of that list then. They are better and more well behaved than Busan from what I hear (but that's hearsay, I'd double check on that of course before making any decesion)
As someone who put in an inoordiante amount of time deciding the best places, the ones I listed are the ones I researched with a fine tooth comb to the be the best for me.
Theres an old thread with lengthy pages about where to go. You can try a google search and it'll pop up. "Best places to teach in Korea" or something like that.
What are you looking for in a place to teach? It makes huge impact on won your experience. For example Jeju is an island with nobdoyon it. Nothing to do. If you play a lot of world of warcraft or read books it's a great choice, but if you need to go out and hit the bars and clubs, it's a dead zone. |

I would choose three recruiters and give them each one location. If they can't find jobs in that location, then decide if it's worth trying them on a back-up location.
If instead the recruiter tries to sell you on teaching in some city you never asked about, then replace them. |

1. Tongyeong
2. Geoje
3. Seogwipo
Three will about do it. I probably won't find my next job through that route, since I'm here and can travel to where I want and talk directly to employers. But I might give them a chance, can't hurt to get extra ideas, no commitment as long as you don't send documents to them until you're darn sure of a particular employer. |

I am looking at three choices that are the closest to Seoul without living in Seoul and each city location that offers conveint depots in their cities to get to. |

Why do you want to avoid living in Seoul? Seoul is a huge city, and it is very busy at certain areas. However, there are many places you can go to which aren't as crowded. |

Seoul is nice to visit, but i wouldn't want to live there. But, it's nice to have the option to visit any time. |
