the city where I'm from has denied me my background check on the grounds that I;m not a resident. I applied for a criminal record check from the state of Illinois, and got it, however, it says valid only in Illinois and has no stamp or seal and now won;t be accepted at the apostille.

Anyone else have similar problems and know how to get a police report if you no longer live in the country?

I got an affidavit from the US Embassy stating the police report was accurate. Maybe you can do that in the country you are in.

Thanks, I'll try it, but I'm not sure if they're going to accept it. Did yours have a stamp or anything on it? Honestly, mine looks like somethign that I wrote and printed up on Word.
