This is a great video about why you shouldn't own Gold or Silver ETF's. He talks about why you shouldn't buy gold ETF's for long term investing to retain wealth which is true as your not investing in the bullion your investing in an index of gold mining companies which is totally different.
However that doesn't mean you can't make money in a gold ETF it just depends on the purpose of the money you are investing......
I think the points and story he told about the girl that bought $450k of gold and to not buy commercial/collector coins from expensively advertised dealers is more important then his opinion on ETF's.
Interesting enough, he says Central Fund of Canada (CEF) is a good place to invest.
