Marriott flagship property is attached to the bus terminal (central city). I stayed there for a bit. Really pricey, but the continental breakfast was damn good.

Here is a link for the YMCA in Seoul:

It's the only hostel name I know of, but it isn't a hostel it's a hotel.

Here's a link for hostel booking online: http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/south-korea/seoul/

Lonely Planet lists 40 places to stay in Seoul including homestays. They also have a list for Busan. Checkout : http://hotels.lonelyplanet.com/ Burt from the names listed they could be a bit pricey.

Here's a list of hostels around the country : http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/AC/AC_EN_4_1_1.jsp?recommCid=&areaCode=&category=B02010600&menuId=3383&byclass=&gotoPage=2&#selectBox

Exit express bus terminal. Look for a big fancy hotel. I think there are a few around the area. Choose one.

Or get in a cab and choose one of the major international hotels-hyatt, Hilton, etc. The cabby will take you there.

I used to stay at Seoul Palace Hotel (right near the Express Bus Terminal/Central City) but they usually charge twice as much and aren't really better than the higher class of so-called "love motels" (like Hotel Herb near Nambu Bus Terminal a couple subway stops away on line 3)

Check for discount rates for Seoul Palace on the Internet. Here's one link...

The Marriot and the Seoul Palace are the only ones within walking distance. If you don't mind crossing the river, you have the Crown, Capital and a little further you have Itaewon. You could stay at a love hotel alternatively, but you probably don't want to.

Which main bus terminal are you staying at?

If you can stay about anywhere, I suggest you go here in Myongdong... nice place and not crazy expensive:

http://www.metrohotel.co.kr/

You can take a bus to the airport from the street around Lotte Dept. Store. The people at the hotel know. My parents stayed here for our wedding. If you do, say hello to Skye, the manager.

I can't remember, but maybe a single was around 65,000? Prices were less than advertised on the site if you reserve ahead, for sure.
