Hi all.
I'm wondering if it is quite difficult to find accommodation during Tet in Hanoi. I'll be flying in on the 23rd and would like to stay in Hanoi for a few days. Also, would it be difficult to travel out of Hanoi and into the countryside in late January due to everyone going home for the holidays? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers |

I was there about 5 years ago during Tet, and the place seemed dead. I don't think accommodation would be a problem. Check out some sights, and see.
About transportation, I was there one or two days before Tet, so I think I missed everybody going home. But, it was easy enough to get a bus out to Haolong Bay the day I wanted to leave. |

Be careful sometimes they use Tet to lodge an offensive. |
