WASHINGTON -- Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell defended his recent off-microphone remark about Homeland Security Secretary-designate Janet Napolitano, calling the comment "100 percent true..."

"Wolf, we've gotten really far off field in the way we cover news..."

You people really are refreshingly honest, I have to give you that. Fast Eddie's blunt remark is just that too, nothing sexist about it.

But I can understand this point, childless women or women with grown children (Condi Rice, Hillary), certainly do have less constraints on their time and on their mind versus the traditional role of men where children are a prime motivation for earning power in any profession or occupation.

This is what made Sarah Palin a refreshingly new choice in role models. But let's face it, she doesn't exactly handle it well when she has to take her kids just about everywhere she goes, adding to the mental and time burdens of juggling them along with her job as an elected official.
