They had a google add on my site. It looks like it would be helpful to those looking for a cheap hotel in Seoul for whatever.

Quote:
About Innostel
The Seoul Metropolitan City Government establishes innostels in downtown areas to provide foreign tourists with clean, cost-effective accommodations.
Innostel is a coined word with 'innovative and 'hostel. It means an innovative accommodation. Inns or motels are cheap but difficult to use. Hotels are convenient but expensive. So, they are financially burdensome to foreign tourists in Seoul. Now, foreigner tourists can enjoy Seoul staying in Seoul-certified innostels.

So, what should a room cost me? I keep trying to do the "stay-up-all-night-and-wait-for-the-buses-to-start-up-again" thing and I can't quite manage it. I get too tired, and then I get grumpy...and that's when some drunk guy usually comes up and tries to mash on me. Then, being a single woman, I've got to get rejected, or just overcharched at the average love motel. Saturday night, I paid 70,000 for a room with 2 twin beds and no bathtub. Last weekend, I paid 80,000 for a sweet room with the luxury spa style bath. It makes no sense.

If you go to the Sinchon area you can easily find a room for around the 50k mark in a love motel. Hotels are always a bit more expensive but it does depend on which area you stay in.

Additionally hotels and love motels all bump their rates up for Friday and Saturday nights....some hotels (e.g. The Princess Hotel in Apgujeong) offers discount rates for people who check in after midnight.

Finally, if you have a Korean speaking friend then they can normally help you to find a website where you can print out vouchers for various hotels and motels which will give you a discount. However, obviously this last option means that you need to know when and where you are going to end up in Seoul or elsewhere.

But....I live in Suwon, and taking a cab from most parts of Seoul to my apartment is usually cheaper than getting a room in Seoul on a weekend night.
