I mean after all, why put up with all of this humiliation from this guy Steven Harper, and this lady, "the queen?" Become the 51st star on Old Glory! Dont let Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, or the Philippines beat you to it!

I mean, after all, you would stand at least a fair chance of being accepted for statehood, don't you think?

No thanks. You can petition us to be our eleventh province if you want though.

And if Canadians become Americans, would they then always wear the maple leaf when they travel?

PS) The Canadian government might look a little messed up right now but I'd take it over the American government any decade.

Discourse is a good thing - keep it coming, please. It helps me to think outside the box, so to speak.

But, if the US were to become another Canadian province, how could we explain this "queen" thing? We already had a queen and it didn't work out! Remember?

Wasn't it a King thing? Besides, the queen we have now is so nice. Maybe you would like her enough and decide to put away your guns and stop smokin' all that crack.

Actually, it was a king and queen package deal - that is why we have the guns (to protect ourselves from their ilk). I guess they got the message, haha!

And the crack thing? Probably due to our proximity to Bolivia/Peru, actually. Not so much a nationality issue, in my opinion. On a similar note, what about the British/Asia opium wars? How is that different? Rolling Eyes

Oh, I forgot one thing, all of you Canada-philes (and I DO like Canadians, for the record). Why do you suck up to us (Americans) when it is convenient, and then wear the maple flag when it isn't convenient?

It is just like the old joke: Q) How do you know who your good friend is when you get thrown in jail? A) he bonds you out the next morning!

Q) How do you know who your best friend is? A) he is the one in the cell with you the next morning when someone finally comes around to bond you both out!

This is not the time nor the place to bring up The Opium War. Please try and stay on topic while using the Off-Topic Forum.

I have a feeling that the War of 1812 discussions will be regurgitated here soon.

Attention Canadians: Please know that not all of us Americans are as stupid as this troll. Most of us are, but not all.
