Dave's ESL Cafe is host to numerous cultures from all parts of the globe. As such, I thought it would be great to get those so coveted recipes out of one's secret stash and share with others this holiday season. There is one catch - what you post here should be able to be made in Korea (for reasons which are obvious). Dare to be different? Here is my own.
Black Beans - 2 cans (this is the easy way) - can be bought on ezshopkorea.com or in other locations such as Itaewon's foreign food market
2 cans of black beans
4 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 table spoons of oregano
cracked pepper (to one's liking)
salt (to one's liking)
Safron (can be bought in Itaewon or at other locations) (1 to 1.5 table spoons)
half a clove of fresh, chopped garlic
one fully chopped onion
a small handful of freshly chopped rosemary
Open the cans of black beans and drain the (insert nasty name for that goo on top) stuff out.
Then, place everything into the pot and cook for 10 minutes.
Viola! You now have Cuban-style black beans. |
