Just found out why SMOE never sent me any e-mails about my upcoming winter camp...they're using my cancelled school email.

Can anybody tell me what what the emails for winter camp say or forward them to me? I know where I'm gonna be teaching, but I know jackshit about it since I never recieved any of the emails. I've been totally in the dark about this and the came starts next week!

My email is [email protected]

Ukon, a few tips for you:

1. Go back and get your email address off this website.

2. Remember, it is not your job to compensate for SMOE's (or your district's) lack of communication and organization.

3. Remember there is an official way of communicating in SMOE: Messages from the top trickle down and message from the bottom (that's you) trickle up. Official messages are supposed to be sent to your school, not your email. SMOE was asked if NSETs could start getting info through email, SMOE said "no" and that they must use their old fashioned communication chain. It would be better if we could get info through email and I'm surprised to hear you are communicating with anyone directly. But that doesn't excuse their incompetence for using your wrong email and not asking for feedback.

No where in the communication chain is Dave's eslcafe.com. You need to talk with your co-teacher, your principal(s), your NSET Representative, the district supervisor or someone at SMOE.

4. Sit back and relax. If SMOE or your school drops the ball, just show up at your office with a good book or a few DVDs. Eventually, they'll sort it out. If not, enjoy the lazy days, go home at lunch!

5. Finally, remember that there is no single "SMOE winter camp." There are school camps, camps at different schools, in-Seoul district camps and out-of-Seoul district camps.
