One of my co-teachers just walked in and handed me a "Questionaire for Native Speaking English Teachers." She said it is due at the end of the day. The instructions state:
"We appreciate your successful year or semester with SMOE. This questionaire below is a tool to help improve ETIS policy and our understanding of NSETs. Your honesty will help promote an improved ETIS program. Please check only one colum per line."
There are 10 questions you are suppose to check 1-6 to indicate how much you completely disagree to completely agree.

My question is, is the questionaire confidential? I've had some problems with my co-teacher and I would like to voice them but I know if I critize them directly it will cause more problems than it is worth. It would be great if this form went directly to SMOE office and they publish a report on the response and suggestions to co- teachers; however, I have a feeling this is not the case.

If you got this form how are you responding? Are you being honest or sugar coating it to avoid problems? Any suggestion on how to respond?

i got something like this in my city as well. i answered honestly, hoping my co-teachers would read it. but if they have, they're not showing it i think you should use your best judgement with your co-teacher; how likely is it that s/he will read it? how likely is it that s/he will react badly to your comments? if it's going to make your life hell there, is it really worth telling the truth?

When answered a similar GEPIK questionnaire a few months ago, I used language that was beyond my main co-teacher (not that hard, tbh). After giving it a quick perusal, she then gave it to my other co-teacher (whose English is better, and who was indirectly criticized) who then approached me with the questionnaire in hand and asked me to explain my responses.

Personally, I think these sorts of questionnaires are a joke if they come through your school. Your co-teacher will read it and if there's anything that puts her in a bad light she'll either get all vindictive, "lose the paper" or perhaps both. It would be much better to do these sorts of questionnaires at a district level orientation where the information would not have to go through your handler (who is most likely to be one of the most criticized issues on the form)

I was told no one would likely look at that questionaire. But like you I made some suggestions.
1. How about a central information/message board for SMOE teachers.
2. 10 coteachers is about 9 coteachers too many.
3. Access to suplies would do wonders for lessons.

Well I just handed it in. Even though I had until the end of the day she was coming in about every 10 min to see if I had finished it. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the repercusions are.

My friends in the past who had something negative to say printed the survey and mailed their honest answers to the SMOE office.
