I realize reputations vary between the various SLP and the definition of SLP Wink

Anyone have experiences of SLP in Sinchon/Mapo? Good or bad? Anyone on here currently working for them?

Avoid it like the plague if it is owned by the same husband-wife team that owned the one in Hongdae in 2004. Those two cretins and their South African bootlicker, Nikko, stole my passport and made me fork over 400, 000 won in order to have it returned to me.

Why didnt you go to your embassy and report it stolen? probably cheaper to get a new one anyway.

I worked there as a temporary teacher for one week this year.

I was impressed.

It may be a hagwon, but it is a high-quality hagwon, it seems. Many of the kids speak decent English. The foreign teachers don't seem disgruntled (and when I was there, there were a BUNCH of foreign teachers, maybe five or so). If you can get a job there and don't mind teaching kids, I'd take it if I were you. The manager also speaks fluent English, which is helpful if you don't speak Korean.

Applying and then waiting for a new one would have been cheaper but I would have missed another job opportunity if I had taken that route.

I have only 1 thing to add....

READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE.

Just remember that 21 classes of 90 minutes is DOUBLE the workload of a PS teacher and 30% higher than that of most other hakwon workers who will make the same money you do.

Then you can take a look at the penalty clauses in the contract and decide if that is still what you want to do.
