In my short time here, I've witnessed three crimes against women, myself.

I've had female (foreigner) friends who were abused (physically) by korean men while in relationships with those men.

I've known a female foreign teacher who has been attacked by a Korean man.

And, then there are the stories by the Korean women, and young adults, and children.....

If you have a story, please share it here.

I'm writing a 'fictional' story for a small paper abroad.

I want to use as many non-fictional sources as I can.

Let 'em rip...

thanks

I have several friends in the U.S. who have had crimes committed against them by American men. Do they count or are we only looking to indict Korean men?

I give no comment at this time. I pleaded not guilty, and we'll simply let the courts decide.

That's a rather intrusive and exploitative question that you're so cavalierly asking. The best example we have of your writing is your post, and given that you're encouraging people to talk about deeply traumatic events in the same way you'd encourage someone to tell an off color joke, no woman in her right mind would think you'd treat the subject with any sensitivity.

perpetrator's nationality doesn't matter, just the exploit and what happened.... esp., interested in what the cops did (didn't do) in regards to the situation.

In korea: A canadian friend of mine saw a korean woman getting the crap knocked out of her on the street, in the canadian girl's neighborhood.

The girl from the Canadia approached the feuding couple and asked the K guy to stop, because there was a lot of blood and she was worried about the K woman.

The K guy punched the canadian girl and chased her for a block and a half until the Canadian woman locked herself in her neighborhood restaurant.

Her restauarnt friends called the cops.

The cops came and said they would/could do nothing because it was a 'domestic' dispute. This is despite the Canuckian not knowing the K man or his abused wench and the Canuckian chick having physical trama.

Any similar experiences?

I'm trying to ferret out some stories of cops ignoring crimes against women..... or domestic abuse.... and the cops lack of action in Korea. Not neing intrusinve...or whatever the feminist posted earlier.

thanks

Last year across the hall from my apartment, a drunken yelling guy tried to smash down the door of a woman's apartment for the better part of an hour with a fire extinguisher, while she screamed inside. When the cops finally got there (the police station was a block away after all) I saw through the peep hole that they just politely shooed him away, and he wandered off. Why didn't my trusty 103-year old security guard do anything about it?

If you watch K-movies, a lot make scathing references about the inaction of Korean police to domestic disputes. Problem is many posters on this board with limited Korean language skills assume it's condoning the actions when in reality it is a criticism of it.

Wow, aren't you a pleasant character. You know what would help you out here? If you alienated a group of people well positioned to give you exactly what you're asking for.
