no one owes these service people any gratitude. Today all they're doing is creating more terrorism and instability in the world. thanks again, usa
but please tell me how iraq/vietnam, panama, korea etc etc were threatening your livelihood? I would really love to hear the answer. If anyone could tell me, plz the floor is yours!

You're still slinging that wide paintbrush around with liberal glee. My point was that it is disingenuous to label all vets as "killers," when you are presence in the R.O.K. is made possible to by their service.
Your livelihood is derived from working here and that is only possible due to the actions past and present of the U.S. and its allies.
Again, I'm not claiming that U.S. policy is or has been infallible, far from it. Mistakes have been made and will continue to be made. We should also hold individuals accountable for their actions. If you want to argue policy, so be it.
Please do not spit on those that sacrifice for your freedoms while enjoying them, it really is bad taste. |

who said i was labeling all vets killers ? I surely didnt. Perhaps you were, but, I made no such accusations.
My livelihood is derived from the system that i grew up in which was paved by WW1 and WW2 vets, so yes, thank you to those men and women.
I am not spitting on the sacrifices of our freedoms, in the precious lines I gave thanks to the men and women who gaves us those freedoms. Not, from anyone else, you know im right, of course im right, you just dont like to hear it. |

| Wow, as I said before, some people are so incredibly naive. How can anyone believe that the only vets to protect their freedoms are those who fought in WWI and WWII? No, I won't explain it to those dumb enough not to understand. Why? Because you should be smart enough to understand why and if you don't, my explanation will only fall on deaf ears. Pull your head out of your ____ and join the real world. |

Do explain how Blackwater vets who are fighting in Iraq are protecting my freedoms if you are capable of doing so. |

Again you omit the Korean War vets.
Why, I wonder. |

| When you consider how many national institutions are now in the private domain, it's not surprising that the military is becoming slowly eroded into ever smaller privately run enterprises. I wouldn't say that the military will ever become entirely privatized as I think you need some kind of high-level strategic decision-making coordination. But it remains, much of the military supply chain is already in the hands of private sector and it wouldn't surprise me if this were eventually extended into the actual process of warfare. I don't think a dead private contractor upsets the public nearly as much as a dead serviceman. |

Are you sure?
Again, the first battle of Fallujah began after four Blackwater contractors were killed on a patrol which they should not have made (at least not without better equipment and protection). |

This thread is about Iraq. Waging war in Iraq did not help to protect anyone in the western world. Iraq did not have WMDs. Everyone knows this except you it seems.

No the thread is about the perception of those that are serving. Are they (decorated) vets or are they mercenaries?
At least that is what the title says. |

Not all Blackwater employees with guns are American. In fact, not all are even western.
Read Jeremy Schahill's book on the subject, Blackwater. |

The thread is about the Blackwater guards who are serving in Iraq. It is not about veterans in general. |
