| I'd like to see no pardons but it will never happen. Maybe Gopher is right and it is best to move on. Dunno. But bcasper and sharkey are getting obnoxious. |
So Bush and his cronies destroying the country and Constitution should be overlooked, but sharkey and I are the obnoxious ones???
Yeah, right, OK...
It's better than being a retarded, clueless illiterate unable to spell the word "crisis." |

It seems a lot of pardons are given out long after the sentences have been served.
"President Lincoln issued two pardons solely based on the man's character. The first was to Arthur O'Bryan. O'Bryan was convicted of attempted bestiality (sexual relations between a human and an animal). Lincoln pardoned O'Bryan because he felt that the man's character was "otherwise reputable.""

So does that mean he can get an E-2 visa now?
But seriously, is bestiality a federal crime? |

Nice, I wonder how he got the pardon? It would be sweet if I could get my speeding tickets pardoned so that my insurance rates go down.
Back to the topic, Presidents pardon. Its one of their powers expressed explicitly in the constitution.
As long as Bush doesn't pardon rapists, pedophiles, violent criminals, or murders, I don't care who he pardons. |

He is buddy-buddy with Clinton, and old friend and used to run Clinton's congressional campaign. |

| Seriously, it would appear that Pardoning cronies was the original intent. |

| It doesn't matter who does it, it's a BS power. The executive is too powerful as is, pardons don't help matters. |
