I am with EPIK and my school has started to finish at 4.30 instead of 5pm in the last week or so.

They say this always happens in winter. I'm not complaning!

Is this happening with anyone else?

my 1st and 2nd year exams are this week, so all the 1st and 2nd grade teachers leave early, about 1:30. but i've got to stay for 8 hours

Why won't they let you leave early? There should be a sign out sheet that you can use to leave early. In some cases, when you leave early, the time is deducted from your sick days (leave at 12:30 for 2 days = minus 1 sick day)

17:30 at my HS. On Fridays at my MS, I generally get to finish at 13:00 for half the semester. For the other half, I finish at 16:00.

if i want to leave early i have to come in early, if not, they'll deduct the time from my vacation days. i don't know why, i think they're still upset about me saying no thanks to the optional afterschool classes last term

What time do you start?

I finish at 4:30 all year... but I also start at 8:30 all year.

I start work at 8.30 with all the other Korean teachers. I could start at 9 but I would be unable to get a lift to work with the K teachers.

There are no buses in between these time slots and it takes 1 hour to walk from my apt to school!

Tonight. I had my 2 last finals today, and won't teach regular uni classes until March. I do have an evening writing class for four weeks, but it should be pretty casual.

(sorry don't meant to gloat. I'm just... happy!)

I only stay at school for 8 hours on Wednesday (8-4). All the other days I leave at 3pm. Yesterday I got to leave at 10am and today I didn't have to go in at all because of high school entrance exams. Finals are coming up and I won't have to go in for those either. I think they give me these extra perks because I teach high school classes with no co-teacher. Did I mention it's all boys? If they don't want the kids to learn anything then that's fine by me! As long as I get extra days off...

I work 8:30 - 4:30, but when the students have exams then I can leave at around 11:00 or 11:30. On some days, such as yesterday, when the school runs High School Entrance Exams or University Entrance Exams I don't have to go in at all.
