| He was arrested by al Qaeda in 2007. Then he was arrested by the United States military in January. Now he has been arrested by the Iraq police. The only person I can think of who gets arrested by so many different departments in the same country is Pacman Jones here in the USA. The two should form a rap duo. |

Everyone involved, jesus. I mean as a journalist your job is to report the news, not make the goddamned news.
I'll tell you that this move only will gain sympathy for Bush. I mean he handled the incident with humility and goddamned aplomb.
The fact that a bunch of Iraqi yahoos used the word 'hero' to describe some poor shell-shocked soul who is obviously a little too affected tells me all too much.
Kurdistan is liberated. Get the hell out of there. Throwing shoes at statesman. This is the highwater mark of Iraqi freedom, and it shoes poorly on America and Iraq. |

Anyone want to bet that all Bush bios will print a pic of the Saddam statue being pummeled with shoes right next to a pic of Bush dodging one of those two shoes---and both of them right below that 'Mission Accomplished' shot...a visual summary of the whole Iraq episode. |

God. I just love how this man 'doesn't know how to act like an adult' or looks like an 'unsavory' sort. It's so easy to sit back and critize and judge this man from 6,000 miles away when your only worry/stress of the day is will you get a grande or a venti down at the local starbucks.
I just love how people without a care in the world expect people whose country has been sent into anarchy to just sit right back and enjoy the ride because '50 years later things will be just fine.'
Sure your country is shit right now and the invasion was totally illegal, but hey we did it for you. By the way, how many Iraqis do you think actually believe that? Just because America says it's so doesn't automatically oblige Iraqis to believe them.
For the record I don't by the whole imperialism crap either but come on, it's IRAQ that has been invaded and occupied. I would argue that an Iraqi's opinion on what is happening over that is far more valid than yours or mine.
Oh my what a poor sport, throwing his shoe at our all mighty statesman. Poor form old chap. Come over for some tea and crumpets ( or I guess maybe a Bud light and a donut ) and we will calmly and quietly discuss what is happening in your country and why you really, really don't need to act so childishly over this trivial matter or invasion, torture, arbitrary detainment, beheadings, car bombs, iranian sponsored militias, drill bits into skulls and what have you.
Show some class, sit down and happily accept OUR version of what is happening and why. It is your obligation as a lowly Iraqi to happily consume everything we feed you because hey, it's just the way the world works. |
