This is justice I can actually applaud.
I never thought I'd see something appealing in Sharia law.

I'm sure he won't be throwing acid in any more faces after this. And hopefully it will give others pause as well.

Yeah, maybe he'll think twice next time or maybe he'll just kill her instead. This isn't justice, it's tit-for-tat retribution. What's to say he doesn't decide that she's ruined his life in a few months time, tracks her down, and kills her? Are you happy that a guy who throws acid in womens' faces is able to walk about freely having paid the price for his crime?

Make him drink the acid instead. Problem solved.

Actually, seriously, we're alking Iran here-as much as that appeals on first blush, I'd rather have the scumbag jailed for life than the punishment, and it lowers the enforment authorities; and no, I'm not an anti-Capitla Punishment bleeding heart.

What's next? You're driving, you're brakes fail and someone is paralyzed so you get same-same? No thanks.

Not comparable. If you purposely stalked and deliberately set about paralysing a person out of spite because they would not reciprocate your affections, then yes, I'd find same-same very fitting.
