From what I have read about Iraq being a Bathist was basically the absolute minimal needed to be able to land any kind of job in Iraq. Many were just Bathists in name only in order to procure a life for themselves and their families.

Yes, Yes I know about the policies the Bathist core had and they were despciable but simply being a card carrying Bathist does not equate to being a Saddam lover. As for being a Shiite or a Sunni well I don't think he had much say in that.

It would be like holding the average card carrying Republican responsible for everything the Republican party has done while in power over the last 8 years. "Hey Mr. Finklestein from New Jersey, it's totally all your fault that we weren't prepared for Katrina, you bastard!"
