|
|
I'm sure this has been covered before but I need definitive current info.
If I get a new passport I have to transfer my visa to it, right? Where/how is this done in Seoul?
How long does it take? - can they do it while you wait or do they hold on to your passport for a week?
thanks much |

Since the E-2 is a working visa, discussions about it generally belong in the Jobs forum. So I moved this over here (and removed the duplicate post). |

I think the visa changes/stamp are done to your ARC and not your new passport. I didn't have any stamps put into my new passport, but something was written on the back of my ARC. I had no problems coming into the country again with my new passport when I was home recently. I did have a re-entry visa in there though. |

You do need to go to immigration and notify them of the change of passport. They won't stamp anything in your new passport. I would suggest that you get a re-entry visa while you go though. The re-entry visa in your old passport should only be valid until the expiry of your passport. |

I had a different experience all together. I took my old passport, new passport and my ARC to immigration in Busan. They just drew a line through my old visa in my old passport and put a new stamp in my new passport. It was literally just a stamp. They proceeded to write something on it with the same dates that were in the old passport.
I was out of there in less than 15 minutes and it didn't cost me much. There was a visa transfer fee, but I don't remember how much it was. |
