Does anyone who has seen the new contract remember what the requirements are for band 1 and band 2?

I'm pretty sure I saw the pay for a 1+ teacher was 2.5 million.

Can someone post a copy of the contract.

I'll be a 1+ next year but would like to know how to get up to 2.7, if that is indeed the max

GEPIK is different from other organizations such as SMOE, EPIG, and so on.

I believe that SMOE's salary cap is 2.7 million Won/month and GEPIK was (and may still be) 2.5 million Won.

The 2009 GEPIK payband is as follows (the following is a summary of the actual contract):
Quote:
Category Pay/Monthly Salary (million Won/month)/Requirements

1*/2.5/Category 1 plus 2 years with GEPIK

1/2.3/Category 3 and a minimum of two years teaching plus one of the following: Master's degree, teaching certificate, Bachelor's degree in Education, English, English Literature, Linguistics or a TEFL/TESOL Certification with a min. of 100 hours.

2*/2.2/Category 3 plus one of the following: Master's degree, Bachelor's in education, teachers certification, or a GEPIK Category 2 teacher for one full year.

2/2.1/One of the following: TEFL/TESOL Certificate with a minimum of 100 hours, a minimum of one year of teaching experience, Bachelors degree in English, English Literature, or Linguistics.

3/2.0/A Bachelors degree in any field.

4/1.8/Category 6 plus two years of teaching experience or one year of teaching experience or a TEFL/TESOL/ CELTA Certificate with a minimum of 100 hours.

5/1.7/Category 6 plus one year of teaching experience or a TEFL/TESOL/CETLA Certificate with a minimum of 100 hours.

6/1.6/Complete d a minimum of two full academic years at a college or university or graduated from a technical or community college program consisting of a minimum of two years.

Isn't 1.6-1.8 million Won roughly what illegal teachers at a hogwon make? Interesting that GEPIK is lowering the requirements for becoming a teacher when Korea is running articles about needing to raise requirements. As I have said many times, education is a business and quality doesn't matter in Korea.

I think the new contract states you can go up to 2.7, when you reach the 2.5 level, pay can go up by 100,000 each year, at the discretion of the employer.
