Damn, I was wasted last night.
Anyone have the phone # for KB ?? - I need to make sure someone isn't having a little joyride with my card right now. |

You need to call immigration and get your ARC reissued. Go to your KB branch with your passport and explain the situation, they'll issue you a new card on the spot. |

If your bank card is just for ATM withdraws, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Most of the cards they issue to foreigners can not be used like a debit card to charge items with. Without your pin number the card is worthless. |

I lost my wallet for five minutes in Busan back in July. Some guy was trying to track me down using the photo on my ARC. |

If there's no credit card in there I'd also wait before cancelling everything and then having to get everything again. |

I would second this. The few times I have lost items in Korea they have been returned to me. |

Not me. Had my wallet stolen the first day in Korea. Thankfully I hadn't gotten my ARC yet.
It was in Daejon at Homever.
Sucked. Good welcome to Korea. Good thing I only had 100,000 in it. |

Yup. But whatever, guess it happens everywhere. Would have LOVED to have some Korean mail it back to me or chase after me in the store. The security guards said they 'checked' the cameras but didn't see anything.
Oh well. Must have been to jetlagged to let it ruin my first impression. |

Yea, it really did suck! But for some reason (again, it may have been the jetlag, or not wanting to cause a scene), I really didn't react too aggressively. I also felt bad for the young 1st year KET sent along with us to immigration, and didn't want her to feel to blame.
But it did set us back....shocked us, really. We'd been living in China for 2 years prior, and had never been pickpocketed or robbed. And I was under the impression that Korea would be more....ahem...well....'civilized'? Or maybe pick-pocketing is a more advanced crime.....hmmm... |
