ESL MILK " Everyday is clueless.

I'm not even goint to quote him. I'll just remember his uneducated responses as I'm writing here because they are so absurd.

How can you possibly think that if federal funding was cut from the parties that there would be inequality? You want to say that the Conservatives get all the rich support. Get real man. Every party has rich people supporting them. It's politics. In Canada and everywhere.
Let's say for the sake of argument that the right does get all the private support please explain to me how one U.S. President Elect Barrack Obama, a Democrat, a liberal, a leftist became U.S. President. How? It wasn't from Federal Funding (taxpayers money) I assure you.

Furthermore - I'd prefer that the Liberals don't get any taxpayers money. All they do is give it away to their buddies for doing nothing. ie. Sponsorship Scandal. This should be Pay Back Time for the Liberals. When the Conservatives fell to two seats in the HOC a while back were they crying about money? No!! Why are the NDP, Liberals, Bloc and Green crying about it now?

The taping of the NDP/LIBERAL meeting: Your response is why would they invite the enemy? I don't know, but they did. If they didn't, please explain how was a tape made in a private meeting? Please tell me wise one.

By the Way. It's not President Harper. It's Prime Minister Harper. If you can't get one little fact straight then how can any point you make be taken seriously?

Read a book or go back to school.

Wow CP... it must be nice to be so educated! I mean, from the level of sophistication evident in your prose, I can certainly tell that you are without a doubt one of THE most educated people I have ever met.

Hmmmm... good point. Maybe next election we can tell Harper to choose Sarah Palin as his running mate, and to make all kinds of outrageous statements and misguided decisions, to the extent that he actually appears to be sabotaging his own campaign and basically giving up halfway. Also, we can temporarily install a George W. Bush-type leader in the Conservative party and make sure that by the time the election comes around, he has the lowest approval rating of any leader in Canadian history-- except the west would probably still try to vote him in.

Ah well, maybe Ignatieff can appeal to the extremely large Ukranian-descent American-educated university professor demographic, on the basis that he will finally be standing up for their rights.

They were crying about the complete and utter destruction of their political party, as far as I can recall-- it's just harder to hear when there's only two people talking, as opposed to every single other political party in the country (ie, a LOT of people).

You got me there. Oh no wait, it was a teleconferencing call, so they couldn't be sure who was listening. Did they invite someone from the PCs? The NDP denies it, Harper says it's true, and I suppose we'll never know... but seriously, I doubt it. I mean, if YOU were talking about unseating the government from power, would YOU honestly send an open invitation to those who you were trying to unseat?

Okay, irony is difficult for you. Got it. I'll try to dumb it down in the future. Maybe I should go to a school where they teach you how to talk to people who have the personalities of twelve year olds?

Sounds good to me.

Yeah.

Well, shit. If elections are expensive, we might as well just have an appointed everything! Since Harper is PM now, he wins. He can appoint the rest of the government, including sitting Liberals.

I have no problem with the Brits having a Queen, it's their Queen after all.

The thread is about ( not a boat ) Canada so I must have been referring to Canada.

I can't say that Australians or NZers are confused about who their head of state is, maybe they get more sunlight down there.

The smell like a dog thing, I'll take that back it was not in the spirit of the discussion.

But this thread is not about knowing about who is Canada's head of state. That is another thread. This thread is about the Prime Minister suspending Parliament.

If you have any problem with Canada's Monarch, I suggest that you petition your government to invade Canada as its just aint right living next to a monarchy. Gotta free those pesky Canadians from the shackles of a brutal queen.

Enough said.

And that specifically is the first problem.

The OP asserts that the PM suspended Parliament, and this is very untrue.

The PM does not have the poser or authority under Canada's constitution
to suspend the Parliament, that power rests with the head of state the
Queen of Canada (Elizabeth II Queen of England) who has subordinated
her power to her agent Viceroy the Governor General.

Stop denying the reality that is the Monarchy.

Like I stated earlier 95% of Canadians don't even know the reality,
the other 5% are in denial and confusion.

So the OP like many Canadian pretends that the PM has suspended
Parliament, when the facts are clear as to where that power lies.
