I like to use Dear Abbey/Anne for teaching idioms and reading lessons. (I think of the letters as short stories.) Sometimes I use them for the basis of role playing when the situation isn't too culturally specific. Sometimes I separate the letter from the response, distribute them separately and have them match situation with response. A few times a semester I use them for practicing giving advice vocabulary. I've used them for prompts in writing.

Problem:
I can't think of any other ways to use the letters.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

You can use John Prine's song Dear Abby for a listening activity.
