|
|
I don't know if it matters much putting up non-smoking signs here in Korea. I've sat in a non-smoking PC bang for a month now and have witnessed at least a smoker a night light up and walk out of the glass partitioned smoking section and right through the non-smoking section, as if they don't know or care. One guy even had the audacity to sit there and toke on his smoke while he paid his bill, even standing at the door like "I'll get my last licks in" before I shouted him out. Made my blood boil.
It makes me wonder what kind of society this is that the smokers can't accept a simple rule like this. It must be a Korean thing because I don't see why some people would give such an obvious health risk as passive smoke a reason to be stubborn.
Hey, I used to smoke, and even then I always tried to keep from affecting non-smokers. But these people here must see it as too much of an offense to be separated for their offense, making me wonder just why Korea is the way it is. |

Get a computer and hooked up at home. I too could not stand the PC rooms and non smoking sections are a joke. |

Correct, they just don't care, and they love not caring, it's part of the whole thing, and they're never gonna care about you, but Jesus does, so you're already free ... |

They love not caring, you think? Is this manly, or just plain stupidity?
Do you think Jesus cares, or that he cares whether or not I care, or you care what I care that the Koreans may or may not care and that about anything that you say may make anyone care to hear?
I doubt it. Good reasoning though. That BOOK of LIFE is just sitting there waiting to see if you care or not.
Meanwhile, get off my posts, before I flame NewZealand some more for an idiot like you brought up out of the mud of some evolutionary, moronic mind. |

I've found one proper PC bang that's well-divided and has an officially smoke-free section. Being as there are two separate rooms with two separate registers, it's very effective.
What I find amazing, though, is that I have one particular which always picks up smells worse than any others, and when I leave, that jacket still smells like cigarette.
Lack of respect for smoking disdain drives me nuts here as well. |

"t esticles" -why is this censored by the way?
As a fellow man I'm shocked that you would misspell this word.
Smokers are the spawn of the devil. |

I still smoke, and am always careful of not annoying non-smokers. It's a dirty habit, and it stinks (but I do NOT feel guilty; I simply have respect for others).

as a smoker, i found korea to be quite liberating. it was nice to be able to smoke in most restaurants and bars and in the pc rooms while i played chess. the prices for cigarettes were also very reasonable (about $1 compared with $3-8 in the USA). i do think, however, it was a step in the right direction creating non-smoking areas in the pc rooms, but they still have a long way to go. i just hope they don't ban it completely like they have in new york and los angeles. |

Kiwi, you are an absolute idiot.
Observing by how many posts you've made, I'm sure you have no life in Korea except posting stupid remarks. I would be a distant second.
Back to topic, yes, I believe Korean men, especially are oblivious to the fact that their secondhand smoke is bothering others. I heard a rumour that a by-law was going to be passed banning all "outside smoking". Yes, correct, "outside smoking"!!! Well there you go, what would encourage one to smoke indoors even more? |
