Hi, I'm Canadian and my contract ends in a couple of months and I was wondering if I had to get another set of transcripts and another criminal check done? And how would I go about that if I'm living in the country. I can understand the transcripts. I can just call me university and have them sent over, but how can I get a crinimal check from my hometown if I'm living here?

I (American) authorized the State to send it in care of my mother and had her send it to me. There was a request form on-line on my State's Law enforcement webpage which I printed out and mailed to my mother. She enclosed a self-addressed stamped envelope and sent it to the law enforcement agency. Hope this helps.

Tanklor1 if you're changing jobs you'll need new transcripts because I don't think they were being kept on file when you gave them your last ones. If you're staying at the same job, you won't. If you've already passed in a criminal record check that should be good, if you haven't you'll need one with a vulnerable sector screening done as you're from Canada. Refer to my last post in The New E-2 Guidelines sticky if you need the criminal record check. It is as up to date as possible for Canadians. Good luck
