|
|
I'm looking to buy the Samsung x460 laptop and I want the process to go as smoothly as possible. Where is the best place to get the machine with an English OS from someone who speaks English?
I would also be interested in not having Hangeul on the keyboard, but that might just be wishful thinking.
I am much obliged for any help you can offer. |

Overseas.
If you can get that model in the USA, you'll save heaps. |

Samsung electronics have opened up a display showroom under their new office towers in Gangnam ( Samsung Town)
Inside Gangnam Stn, head for exit 4 and there is a passage which continues to a new shopping area on two levels under Samsung Town.
They have laptops, pc's, cameras, tv's, kitchen appliances etc all available to see there.
Most staff are pretty good in english.
English operating systems are available for an extra cost. (Still more expensive than outside korea tho' eg : R710 17" laptop - 2,490,000 w english OS / around $1,900 in USA)
Nice place to browse.

| I've heard Samsung is horrible with laptops, PCs, digital cameras, and camcorders. |

I wouldn't be one to say they don't make good stuff or that everything is so expensive. I'm not saying this from what I've heard but from personal experience.
We have a Samsung digital camera. Bough it maybe 2 years ago before going on a trip to Canada. It's a 10.1M pixels camera and couldn't find anything else similar in Canada, even less around a similar price at the time.
I have an old Samsung Hi8 camcorder. Had it for about 8 years and still works fine.
Got an old second hand Samsung laptop. Works well, too. It's was bought new in 2002 and still has no dead pixels or any other problem with it. |

| Samsung is alot better than LG IMO. Everything I've owned from LG has broken due to poor EE or Computer engineering. |
