Postman loses ¢G130,000 savings to Nigerian internet scam after being duped by a friend he met on MySpace

Appealed to his nature? More like appealed to his bollocks. He obviously thought he would get a leg over if he helped her out.

Serves him right.

He looks like Mr Potato Head.

First, how can anyone fall for these scams anymore? You hear about the stupid things every two days.

Second, what kind of "postman" is sitting on 130 grand?

He looks like he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

I would also like to know where he got 130,000 rods to piss away too. Maybe Royal Mail could be a career option for me after Korea...

I'll vote Moron of the Year for him. One might think that it's nice he's actually giving people the 'heads up'. However, most people don't need to be told something so obvious. And similar morons will simply not learn anyway.

The missing part in the story is what he actually thought he might get out of the newly formed relationship.

I don't think it was 'good nature'. He was obviously thinking with his other brain on the first scam. On the second scam, he proved that his main brain doesn't function so well.

He should have listened to The Wise Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A

http://www.windsorstar.com/Leamington+loses+Nigerian+scam/1173799/story.html

A Leamington man has fallen prey to international scam artists who strung him along for more than a year with the promise of millions in cash, but ultimately bilked him and his family of $150,000.

John Rempel said he quit his truck driving job, lost friends, borrowed money and crossed the globe in pursuit of a non-existent inheritance, after he was contacted by e-mail in what is known as a Nigerian 419 scam.

Rempel said he borrowed $55,000 from an uncle in Mexico and his parents gave him $60,000 on credit to cover fees for transferring $12.8 million into his name.

Theyre in it now because of me, said Rempel, 22, breaking into sobs. If it wasnt for me, nobody would be in this mess. You think things will work out, but it doesnt. Its a very bad feeling. I had lots of friends.

I never get calls anymore from my friends. You know, a bad reputation.

I liked this bit too:

"He said that he became suspicious when the woman stopped communicating with him and contacted what he thought was a website run by the FBI in America but which turned out to be another scam."

How do you fall for the same scam twice in a row?
