1. Picking their noses in Public.
2. Talking about their own perceived "diligence/hard work."
Then I'm stumped. Everything else seems to "embarass" them. |

Farting - letting a big one rip on the bus or in the subway.
Belching - after consuming lumps of fat, I mean samgyopsal, the local gin like brew and copious amounts of garlic |

Wow, finally this topic made it on Daves as a joke. I was thinking several times to start it, but opted out. While most Koreans are good people with good intentions that sometimes gets mistaken as them not liking us, they're so conscious like I was when I was a teen, but often feel so embarrassed around foreigners and their higher ups or bosses. This seems to tie into the face saving part of the culture.
What doesn't embarrass Koreans. Oh boy... Lets see.....
Sleeping at night.
Breathing air.

Letting their kids under-achieve in almost all subjects because they know they will get pushed through the system. |

I'm trying to envision a Catholic Korean. I can't begin to try to fathom what their guilt/shame level would be.
I'm just puzzled as to why the few things that DON'T embarrass them seem to be the exact things that DO embarrass people from every other country on earth (except maybe their traditional masters and overlords, the Chinese). |

Leaving the damn door open in every place they go to. Close the door, save energy, and keep the building warmer. |
