| Anyone think I'll get hassled if I don't have a stamp/seal on the back flap of my OFFICIAL transcripts? I asked the lady to put a stamp or seal on the back, but she said that they don't do that. She made some kind of imprint with this big metal object, but you can only see it if you bring it close to your face and look closely. On the front, it clearly states in capital and bold letters, "OFFICIAL DOCUMENT, VOID IF OPENED." What are the chances I get rejected because of this? |

My uni, as standard practice, do not seal or stamp the exterior envelope. This was not a problem until one day in 2007 my application was rejected because my transcripts (which were sent directly from the university and contain all kinds of colorful stamps---ON THE TRANSCRIPTS) didn't have a stamp/seal on the exterior envelope. The immigration bureaucrat refused to even open it simply because it lacked the university's seal on the exterior envelope. Nevermind the fact that the 'unnoficial if opened' stamp was there, it needed the university's seal stamp. This cost me another 800,000 won to travel on an emergency visa run to Japan. Simply because of that tiny, uber-stupid technicality.
It helps to call your uni's registrar to see if they seal the exterior of envelopes. Mine did it per my request. |

Erm. Mine (from UCLA) were in a sealed envelope from the university with their name and "this is official" printed on the envelope, but no stamp or seal per se. Will this be good enough? Any UCLA alumni had problems? |

I wouldn't sweat it. UCLA's a big school. They've seen plenty of UCLA transcripts here. |

| My uni initially sent me unofficial transcripts.....ie. no seal. No way would immi accept these. They had to see the uni's stamp across the the seal of the envelope. It had the uni name and said "sealed official transcripts". |
