I can imagine the commercial now:
(In a deep smooth voice) Dead Athlete's Brains. Just a DAB will do ya.

American football started out as an extremely violent sport at the college level, and I've heard that up to 30 players were killed in a single year before Teddy Roosevelt stepped in and got colleges to institute some rules that sharply reduced the number of fatalities and serious injuries.

Roosevelt even considered banning the sport, but it's so entrenched and popular now that it's often given more-or-less a free pass when it comes to safety and drug issues. Obviously practically all the linemen have taken Human Growth Hormone and many have used steroids, but politicians prefer to go after easier targets like pro wrestling and boxing.

A bit misleading too since the research was only done on football players.
