Hi guys
I found a 1988 Olympic 10,000won coin in the apartment the other day.
I think it was given to me by a friend a few years ago. Dont even remember.
Not sure it has any extra value other than the 10,000won that is stamped on it. Heres a crazy question, but is it even possible to swap this at the bank for 10,000 won note ?
I dont collect coins and rather have 10,000won.
Just curious

I'll give you 20,000 won for it shipped. I have no idea what it's worth.

Korea made 38 different "collectors" coins during the 1988 Summer Olympics.

There were 38 different coin designs to be collected in a set, not considering the different conditions in which the coins were produced. The huge number of coins, coupled with the fact that other participating and non-participating nations were also issuing coins independently to mark the Olympics (and to raise money), were discouraging to potential buyers.

Since that time South Korea has been very cautious regarding the issue of any commemorative coins.
