Hot news topics for the past two days:

1. What brand is Michelle Obama wearing?
2. How is Michelle Obama going to balance work and raising her kids?

I feel like I woke up and it's 1955.

News is supposed to be informative. If the public wants that kind of gossip they can wait a half an hour until entertainment tonight comes on.

Ah, the feminist backlash is in a fine upswing. The wage gap is increasing, violent crimes against women are increasing, rape convictions are decreasing and we can all sit around and chuckle without shame at the racist and sexist jokes aired on shows like the Family Guy. I never would have believed I would have looked back with yearning to the comparatively liberal nineties. Economy starts to crash and there is suddenly no more room for equality in the prevailing ideology any more- back to the kitchen and away from the dwindling resources, woman! I'm looking forward to protesting, though- should be a fun third wave revolution!

Its not sexism, its genuine interest.

To assume that all women want to know is about lip gloss and designer labels is insulting and pathetic. Of course there are a lot of stupid women out there but just as many stupid men.
I think about the great night me and y partner had tonight - talking about a myriad of things - and I wonder where half of you guys get your views on women..

Was the fascination with princess Diana also "sexist"??

I mean, there is an interest in her, Michelle is a relatively new figure on the world stage, she's a woman, she has kids... these seem like legitimate things to feature on say, entertainment news or something, just keep it off the headlines and I don't really see a problem.

Having an interest in clothing does not make anyone stupid.

Michelle is very smart and very beautiful. Her fabulous sense of style and the risks that she is willing to take with it will ramp up interest in American fashions. That will help the American garment industry, which will help our economy and some others around the world.

I say the more hype, the better as garment factories have become important training grounds for poor countries to climb the technology ladder and to become competitive in the world marketplace. First one learns to sew a straight stitch, then after awhile, one can learn to make patterns, and even design garments, That garment design is first done on paper, and then on a computer.
