Hyehwa has seen its share of kebab stand over the past year, but now it has the real deal.
A new kebab stand opened today and it is excellent. It is 2nd to Omer's Sultan Kebabs in Itaewon.
It is a simple place with only 3 chairs outside, yet the 3,500 won kebabs are worth winter weather.
The family is from Turkey and are super nice. The kebabs are stuffed full and wrapped like a burrito.
To get there, exit Hyehwa Station (Line 4) exit 1 and do an immediate U-turn. Walk past McD's and Kraze Burger on the left. Immediately after Kraze Burger, walk left on the pedestrian walkway and continue in that direction (away from the main road, Daehangno). You'll see the blue jazz club sign on the right. The Turkish Kebab place is right there. |

Bump! This new kebab place rocks. They also serve melted cheese sandwiches and cheese brek, a small rolled and fried mini cheese kebab. |

Ate them today- not as good as the Kebab guy in Itaewon- but still very, very tasty and much closer to where I live. |

Too good, wish I hadn't read this....

The average doner they tested contained almost 1,000 calories - half a woman's recommended daily intake.
Geoffrey Theobald, of Lacors, said: "The level of saturated fat and salt in some is a serious cause for concern."
He added that while they "would never consider kebabs part of a calorie-controlled diet" the true content of the average kebab was worrying.
Among the kebabs sampled - without salad or sauces - the average doner contained 98% of an adult's recommended daily salt and 148% of their daily saturated fat allowance. |

shhhh. my stomach doesn't want to know.
although given the smaller portions served in korea at the kebab places i'd peg it more at a (slightly, ever so slightly) less disturbing 500-600 calories. |
