I used to like Adam Sandler. Wedding Singer, Waterboy, Happy Gilmore - those were funny movies. Lately - not so lately - the best thing I've seen him in is Punch Drunk Love, in a serious role. In his so-called comic roles he's just not funny any more. That's why I wouldn't even consider seeing Don't Mess With the Zohan, and the bad reviews don't surprise me.

Who agrees with me?

I disagree. He was never funny. Ever.

I have to agree with you on this one. I wish it were a different poll though, maybe say, Eddie Murphy. Going from the likes of Harlem Nights, 48 Hours, Coming to America to Dr. Doolittle, Norbit, etc. A bit off topic, but....you know what I mean.

I don't get why people like this guy so much that he can command a reported $20 million dollars a flick. Jack Black is funnier and so is that guy from "Meet the Fockers" - what's his name?

I disagree for a few reasons. One is that, he's always been fairly mediocre. Waterboy was terrible, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison were pretty good. Anger Management was terrible, but Don't mes with the Zohan was great. Granted, it was stupid, but for some reason I found it amazing. Maybe it hit me because the speech about working in an electronics store reminded me of working in Korea.

Little Nicky is probably the funniest movie I've ever seen. But that was back in 2000.

His most recent movie I've seen was Reign Over Me. It wasn't even a comedy.

We probably don't need a poll to tell us most people would agree about Eddie Murphy. I would put it this way: Eddie Murphy went from being hysterically funny to mediocre-ly funny, hence to family comedy.

Right. Big difference between Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop III re: Eddie Murphy generally. Or just go from the 1980s to the late-1990s and 2000s.

Adam Sandler? Liked him on SNL and in Wedding Singer. Last film of his I saw had something to do with a remote control and it mostly bored me. I did like the one where his girlfriend had no memory -- that is, at least enough to watch it on cable and not change the channel. Generally, I think his films are for kids.

I didn't vote, because I only agree somewhat that he isn't funny anymore. His movies are pretty much hit and miss. "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" was pretty funny in part because of Sandler but also because of John Turturro (who is always awesome!!). I do like his movies because I can tell when I watch them that they are having fun doing it. I also like that Sandler always has his friends in his movies, which adds to the overall feeling of the movie. This is a feeling I also get when I watch the Coen Brothers' movies.

I didn't see it. I didn't find him funny on SNL so have avoided seeing most of his movies. Caught a couple on TV for free, but that only confirmed my first impression. (I can't say for sure, but I may have never seen a whole movie of his. I tend to fall asleep when I'm bored watching a movie.)

Does Sandler remind anyone else of Jerry Lewis...as in painfully unfunny?
