I should be arriving sometime late February and will obviously not know anyone...if you're looking to make a new friend, drop me a line! Or if you live anywhere nearby (somewhere I can get to using the subway), that's cool too.

I'm 23/m/Los Angeles. Just thought I'd try meeting some people beforehand. Either reply here or send me a PM and I'll contact you when I get there. Smile

I'm actually going to be starting a teaching position in Ilsan at the beginning of March as well, and will likely be arriving toward the end of February. Coincidentally, I also happen to be 23 and a guy, and am always up for meeting new people/potential drinking buddies.

Can I ask what school you're teaching at?

Thanks! Yeah I've heard a lot of good things about Ilsan. I'm definitely looking forward to checking out La Festa. I've heard it mentioned on this board several times.

Hey, I moved to Ilsan last week and like yourself I'm always looking to make new friends.

I'm 26 years old, female and from England. I live in the Tanhyeon neighbourhood which is about 15mins from LaFesta/Westerndom by bus and work at GnB.

Let me know when you're here, I'll show you the few places I have checked out!

Ilsan has: La Festa, Western Dom, COSTCO (at subway station #314) and it's on the Seoul Subway line! There are plenty of E-Marts, Lottemarts, and Home Plus stores. Oh, and there are also plenty of movie theaters. Very Happy

Just make sure you're teaching at a good school!

I don't know if you guys play basketball, but about 4-6 of us play basketball at Lake Park. We will start playing when the weather gets better.

Sounds good! I still don't know the exact date I'll be arriving, but I'll definitely get in touch with you once I'm there. I think I'll be in Hwajung (sp?)...not sure how close that is to you. Looking forward to it!

I'm actually really glad you brought that up. I would love to play some ball, but will probably only be able to do so on the weekends, since I'll be working long hours. I'm not sure when you guys play, but I'll PM you once I'm there.

Ilsan is a great place but remember it will be one of the first cities to be occupied if there is ever a war between the Koreas.

I'm going to be working at Maple Bear. Irregardless, I'm always down for meeting new people. I'll be flying into Korea on the 25th (I guess it will be the 26th when I get there). Good luck with getting your Visa, and I'll hopefully see you over there.
