so i keep missing the delivery guy, because well, i'm freaking working at 9 am. and since my korean doesn't really extend past "thank you" those phone calls aren't really getting us anywhere. wish they would've just left it.
so now i have this sticky from the post office that i think means i need to pick up my package there. so can anyone give me pointers? my coteacher is gone right now, and i dont know anyone else i can ask to translate it or tell me what i'm supposed to do. maybe nothing, maybe i just wait, but that seems like it would backfire.
the thing he scribbled could be the date, feb 07. so that could mean i have till then to pick it up, or he'll be back then. i have no freaking clue. tips? pointers? obvious things i'm not grasping here? because frankly i have a knack for missing the obvious. |

Go to the post office and hand it to them. They will give it back, along with your package. If you're in an apartment building with a security office, go there and hand it to them, they've probably got it.
(Of course, where I work, if I'm not home, they just deliver things here... They ask the security guy where I work. Small town.) |

People really need to make as many friends as they can right off the boat.
Why not throw up a photo of the sticky note, maybe someone here can give you a little more info. What age students do you teach? If its juniour high or above probably one of them could explain it to you. they'd be too happy to help out teacher. |

'What does it mean?'
That u r lucky enough to actually have the parcel arrive lol.
Glad u r getting sorted. I second the tip re asking your kids at school. That was how I got a bus timetable for the bus here in Sticksville. |

| I don't know how much you trust your school, but you should consider having your stuff delivered to your school. I've done that without any problems, and I don't have to worry about missing the delivery guy, since the school is open from 8am - 8pm. |

yeah i used to have stuff delivered to the school. but i got tired of getting 20 questions every time a box came in. oh what is it, what does it do, is it from your mom, is it an animal, vegetable, or mineral? and actually, i tried to get the kids to talk to the delivery man for me when he called, but they weren't very helpful. i'm teaching winter camp right now so its 3rd graders. ( i think this week has some of low end kids, but i wont judge.)
thanks for all the help you guys! i'm gonna take it to the post office tomorow and see what happens! oh the exciting times of korea, even going to the post office is an adventure! |

If you do have stuff delivered to your school, make sure you request that your name is written in BIG letters - my school ended up opening up my package to see who it was for - luckily it was just a magazine I had subscribed to and nothing really personal;) |

I got one of those notes once. The date was for the next time the person would deliver the package. After a couple tries you have to pick it up at the post office or have a co-teacher call and have the person deliver the package at your school.
Beware, if you go into the post office, the package may be in a truck and you may have to pick it up later. This is where communication difficulties could cause problems. |

The first one I had in my first building directed me to the sports store on street level. They became my regular parcel holding service.
I bought them some nice Dok before I left. In my new building they deliver to the building adjoshi.
