|
|
Hi!
I have several brand new MS Windows XP Pro recovery disks available for sale.
These are legitimate, genuine, original MS OEM disks that came with our office computers which we have replaced. Because of that, we have no need of these but perhaps some of us here do.
I have a number of versions with SP1, and SP2, as well as several Windows 2000 disks.
These disks are FULL, English language versions of the MS Windows XP Pro Operating System. They are NOT copies.
They are intended for people who have computers with the OS recovery built into their hard drives, and use the Product Key that originally came with your computer. They do work with product key generators however for those who wish to do so.
Prices are; KRW15,000 for SP1 versions. And KRW25,000 for SP2 versions. When successfully loaded and activated, manufacturer updates are available on the MS web site.
I paid over KRW150,000 each for these, and am selling them as a courtesy to anyone who wants or needs a physical Windows recovery disk (in English), instead of relying on the bootable partitioned recovery built into your HDD.
If interested, please contact me for details and if still interested, we can arrange payment and either pick-up, or delivery by Korean Post.
PS - prices for the Windows 2000 is also KRW10,000 and I have one (1) complete with COA and Product Key that is sealed in package and was NEVER USED! I am selling it for KRW50,000.
These are NOT copies or counterfeits. They are genuine MS software that can be used by legitimate users. |

I believe it's against Microsoft's TOS to sell OEM disks. |

Sorry to break it to ya, but brand-named OEM discs (like Samsung or LG) are pretty much useless if you don't have the right brand of computer to go with them. The OEM discs check to make sure you have the right triggers in bios or on the HD.
Only a pure Windows OEM disc (not branded by Samsung or some other company) will work as a true install disc. |

I'm only trying to be helpful. I have several of these that I cannot use, but I think there are a number of people here who could, especially as they are in English.
I'm taking a large loss on them and so, and not making money off these, I'd rather see them go to good use than just trash them, although I could just as easily do that.
Although I wonder why anyone would be so concerned over such a petty issue, there is a way to meet MS's TOA and that would be for me to include a small piece of PC hardware along with the software, that is if anyone was genuinely concerned about this trivial issue.
After all, more than 15 years here and I sure wouldn't want to violate anyone's regulations now, would I...?!
But if enough upright, law-abiding citizens like yourself were truly offended by this offer, just let me know in a civil manner, and I'll just bin them and forget the matter by bedtime.
Before that time comes however, if anyone needs one of these please, let me know and I'll have it out to you quickly. |

Right you are mate!
And that's why it's a good thing that these ARE pure, MS disks with NO private labelling. Only a shiny holographic surface to lead one home through the abyss.
Frankly I'm not sure why this is so controversial. when I arrived here more than 15 years ago, it cost me over KRW400,00 to get a legit ENGLISH language version of Windows 95. Price went down a bit by Win 98 and again by the time Win XP arrived. But I ALWAYS bought legit, genuine software.
For the price I'm seeking, this is not business, it's charity. But if enough people fail to see that, I can just drop it. No point in forcing people to accept a benefit if they can't see it. |

Oh, your question...now that would be why mate? Are ya having a problem with the KRW10,000?
Ya could make it up with just 2 or 3 less beers one night mate. |

Excuse my blunt ignorance of the matter:
If I have a current laptop loaded with Vista, (alas, no recovery CD was included with it)
And use your bootable XP and install that instead of my OS NOW?
if let's say Vista goes bat crazy on me? (Might be better to install XP instead of vista anywyas for games and that crap.) |

Sorry mate, this may be the bargain basement, but it's not the flea market.
25K for a genuine Win XP Pro is as low as it gets.
But if that's just too dear, maybe you could get a dicey copy off a friend for the price of a blank CD-ROM.
Good luck to you and keep the faith! |

It would be a downgrade, but it would work as an OS.
When I bought my current laptop (Sony ultra-mini), I chose the one with Win XP Pro instead of the Vista Home Version as an OS and have not been disappointed. However Sony has its recovery on the HDD and Sony is notorious for all the bloatware included in its recovery.
I loaded the OS from one of these very disks and used the product key on the bottom of my laptop to activate it, and it's worked fine for the nearly one year I've had it. And NO unnecessary or undesirable software!
Some of my friends have used these disks and they worked fine too.
But whether or not you chose to have one of these on hand for emergency use, is up to you. But for the price, it's not a bad idea IMHO.
It's your call though. |

So I can use a Vista product key to activate XP?
I'm just a bit confused if the CD contains everything I need to downgrade? It sounds like I'll need another XP key in order to activate it. |

You're right as rain!
Don't think you could use a Vista Prod Key (maybe, but not sure on that or even if it would be wise...)
But a keygen (which I could give to anyone that wanted one along with one of these disks) would do the job. |
