Bizzaare. Big set-up in my opinion. Letterman is razzing him way too hard for it to be real. |

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. I wonder if Phoenix is just trying to be some enigma/icon type celebrity. Or maybe he's just acting out a role for a future movie. |

That was a bit disturbing in any case.
This morning on a local radio talk show, 2 in the studio voted that it was a publicity stunt.
One said he's "gone off his twig."
Crispin Glover had a similar "episode" on Letterman years ago. Dave rode him just as hard.
Maybe it's all just harmless eccentricity. |

TMZ thinks it's all a big put-on, that he's working with Casey Affleck on a mockumentary. |

I saw that show with Crispin Glover-Dave was actually pretty easy on him; Glover was in the middle of his own meltdown.
He was back on a couple weeks later, and while he wasn't out to lunch, he was less than articulate. |

I don't think its a publicity stunt!
I think phoenix has just had enough of the BS that goes with hollywood, and he is an alcoholic so I think he is just plastered and can't even rememeber his name! and Im sure he is on something else... |

Me and the GF were in the audience watching Letterman a couple of weeks ago. Renee Zellweger was the guest. |
