The sound of the dozens of students in and out of the office doing the teachers filing is killing me.

A rage is building up that needs unleashing.

One boy keeps coming back huffing and puffing, acting like it's hard work carrying a few files up stairs. He has some sort of behavioral problem ( allegedly, I just thought he was a bit of a an idiot). Teachers also say that he hasn't been taught how to control the volume of his voice and thus cannot speak in a normal manner, he must speak at full volume and has to be reminded to talk quietly.

His friend appears to suffer from the same fate. I have suggested that their parents should clean out their ears, but that wasn't taken seriously.

The teacher they are helping also has this volume problem, which seems to act as a catalyst for the other students. I had a quick peak inside her ears as well, they could do with a bit of a cleaning out.

Strange that all the other teachers can control their volumes, must be a genuine disorder here in Korea.

I also found out today that the homeroom teacher of the worst first year class 1-1 ,which she never takes care of, is the lady that sporadically sits opposite me. I never knew she was the reason this class of devil children existed.

I complained about them to the CT a few months back because their room was a health hazard, old food up the walls, brand new one month old floor covered in chewing gum, walls covered in writing, garbage everywhere.

She said that their homeroom teacher is very busy and never has time to take care of them, she only comes to school for her lessons!!!

She has come in once this week, the rest of the week, in which we have had a lot of downtime, the kids in 1-1 have run riot in the corridors. They have been fighting, and disrupting what little control the teachers have over other classes.

Amazes me that she is allowed to do this, but at the same time not surprised.

Worst thing about it, she isn't going to be a homeroom teacher next year. Even though she is finished whatever project she has been working on.l

Feel free to let it out on this thread.

Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil I've been deskwarming since December and have not had my vacation yet, I leave tomorrow. I was not invited to the graduation ceremony, I couldn't care less. They told me I would not teach today and that I would be sitting all day today again.... so I come to school in my casual dress (sweater and khakis). Just to find out that today is the ceremony and I'm expected to attend and they just now tell me. Everone's all dresses in suits and dresses and here I am wearing my Khaki's. WTF......

It's time for the end-of-meeting when decision finally have to be made and things come to a head. Of course one teacher has to blow a gasget about something. This year it's one whose pitch tends to rise an octave when she yells.

Oh well, could be worse I guess.

I did that for the first 3 days this week and that was enough. I feel for ya! I went to the ceremony as well. I made a comment or two about how most of the students/parents were talking while the Principal and Founder of the school were speaking. One of my co-teachers said..."Isn't it like that in America, don't the kids talk there?" I said yes, some do but most do not and when they do they try to keep it quiet, it's quite the opposite here in S. Korea. People just do not respect the speaker, not even for 30-40 minutes. The Principal is retiring too!

Our ceremony felt like a media scrum. Graduates and parents crowded in the small gym with flash bulbs and cameras going on. Talking from every corner too.

My current school is scum.

I hope that my next school will be a shining example of excellence but I have lost my faith in schools here.

I don't know how much longer I will stay in this country.

I HATE filing and would much rather put up with a little noise than bother with it...which gives me a brilliant idea. Tomorrow, I will take all of the handouts from the past, well, I don't want to say how long and hand them back to the students, have them put them in order by date, figure out which ones are missing and then give them back to me. Then, we will have a few days in which we make up the missing homework and handouts, After which, we will put things in order again and put them in the proper notebooks. I don't have to do it all by myself and I never did. It almost feels like freedom...although I am still going crazy in this stupid small town. I had the flu this week, could barely move, and my boss came to my apartment insisting that I teach my afternoon classes because she had parent meetings. I was too sick to put up much of a fight, so I put thirty words into an internet word search puzzle maker and called it a lesson plan. I know it's lame, but she shouldn't have bullied me like that.
