For me.................

1. Soke in A-1 for about 3 hours.
2. Top it off with oregano and chili pepper
3. Cook Medium.
4. Top it of with melted butter and a pinch of basil.
5. Enjoy.

You?

1.) Marinate in either Newman's Own or Wishbone Italian Dressing
2.) Pan sear both sides on a red hot skillet to lock in the juices
3.) Broil in an oven to medium
4.) Serve with A-1 and a baked potato with garlic butter
5.) Pound chest, undo my fly, and stick my hand in my pants ala Al Bundy

throw the steak meat in a high-sided frying pan (in a wok if cut up) with a litre of red wine and a half dozen full cloves of garlic and put on high heat until boiling then leave on medium heat for about half an hour, until the liquid has boiled away, then throw some salt and pepper on it, and eat with fresh french bread (or with pasta noodles thrown in halfway through the cooking process)

minimum effort, tastes great... the meat's well done yet tender and flavorful

takes about two minutes of my time all in all... which is why it's such a good midweek meal

if i wanna fiddle then onions and green peppers could be chopped up and tossed in halfway through, along with some hot peppers... and if the meat's chopped, then turning the heat up to high toward the end to burn off the liquid as small pasta shells are cooked in it makes for a yummy stirfry mixture ... other such variations

Pan fry each side for a minute- salt and olive oil

put in the oven for 3-5 mins depending on thickness.

Usually medium rare. No sauce.

OK, so if you absolutely must cook the poor thing, then rough crush some whole black pepper, and crush some coarse sea salt. Rub a little olive oil on it then sprinkle liberally with the crushed fixins'. Start the pan on high heat and flop the fridge cold steak in. I say fridge cold cause a lot of people let it warm up on the counter, and it ends up bleeding all over the place ad they end up with a dry piece of meat. Straight from fridge to plate for seasoning and into the pan. Don't touch it until it slides by itself. That's seared. Flip it over. Still on high heat. Sear that side too. Turn the pan down to medium or medium high depending on how thick and what temperature you want. Thick steak cook a little cooler to allow the heat to get all the way through. Thin steak can take a higher heat.

You can finish the steak with a compound butter, or make a pan sauce with a half cup of wine, a sprig of thyme and a tablespoon of butter or a spoonful of whatever color roux you prefer.
